The Rainbow Connection depends on financial and in-kind support to ensure the continued mission of granting wishes to children with life-threatening illnesses. Ways you can make a difference include sharing our mission with your community group or local school, sponsoring a wish through our Adopt A Dream Program, donating in-kind goods that our children are wishing for, or volunteering to be a part of the wish-granting process.

Kids Helping Kids
Michigan children, through their school, church or community group choose to raise funds to help The Rainbow Connection make dreams come true for Michigan children diagnosed with a life threatening illness. This can be accomplished by having a fundraiser, donating special items, or raising awareness about The Rainbow Connection at your school and with your family and friends.
This program is a rewarding experience that allows children to make a difference in their own community by helping their peers during this most difficult time. The Rainbow Connection staff will provide support and guidance with your fundraising and awareness efforts.
Pathway of Angels
Located at the Rainbow Connection Office, winding through the garden, is a peaceful brick pathway dedicated to loved ones. Whether streamed in sunlight or dusted with gently falling snow, our Pathway of Angels offers a serene setting for reflection.
With a minimum donation of $200 you can give a unique gift of an engraved brick along the pathway in honor of a loved one or in memory of someone special to you that will become a part of the magic of The Rainbow Connection.
*The money raised is used to fulfill dreams of our special wish kids.
Brass Plate
Purchase an engraved Brass Plate in honor or in memory of someone special to you. Your engraved brass plate will hang above the mantle of the fireplace at The Rainbow Connection. It will be a permanent symbol of your support to the Michigan children of the Rainbow Connection. Brass plates are $100.00 each.
Volunteer
Volunteer at The Rainbow Connection and feel the magic of making a dream come true for a Michigan child diagnosed with a life threatening illness. There are so many volunteer opportunities at The Rainbow Connection. Our goal is to spend money raised on wishes for kids and support for their families. Volunteers lend their expertise so we can spend money on the wishes we love to grant to these brave children.

Planned Giving
Consider a gift to The Rainbow Connection when creating or updating your will or other estate plans. There are many options from a bequest of a fixed dollar amount to a percentage of the estate, which keeps the division of the estate in desired proportions, regardless of its size.
A gift in your will, trust or other estate plans is a wonderful way to help The Rainbow Connection continue to make dreams come true for Michigan children and to create a legacy that may last forever.
There are many legal options available to you that will accomplish your exact intentions. To avoid confusion or misunderstandings we urge you to seek the counsel of an attorney who specializes in probate and estate planning.

Matching Funds
Ask your Personnel / Human Resource Department if your company participates in a Matching Fund Program. Pick up a matching gift form and mail it to The Rainbow Connection along with your donation.
Host a Fundraiser
Join in the fun and plan your own special event to benefit The Rainbow Connection.
You may contact us for ideas or call us with an idea of your own. Everything from an ice cream social to a car wash to a dinner dance or golf outing will help us make dreams come true for these brave children. No matter what the event, The Rainbow Connection is most grateful for this support and the opportunity a fundraiser creates to share our important mission with others.

Dream Makers
Partner up with The Rainbow Connection to make a dream come true for a child with a terminal or life-threatening illness. you will assist us in fulfilling an increasing number of wishes with your monthly donation.
Elect to donate on a monthly basis via credit card. Participants simply decide on a gift amount to be charged to a credit card ($10.00 minimum).
Platinum Sponsor
$500.00 a month
You will receive a plaque and photo of the wish child that you have sponsored.
Gold Sponsor
$100.00 a month
You will receive a certificate suitable for framing and a photo of the Wish Child you have co-sponsored.
Silver Sponsor
$50.00 a month
You will receive a certificate suitable for framing.
Monthly Partner
$20.00 a month minimum
You will receive a certificate suitable for framing.
All donations are 100% tax deductible.

Scholarship Fund
The Rainbow Connection is honored to support our wish children as they proceed on to life’s many challenges and rewards. Certainly these children have a wisdom and strength we can all learn and grow from. What better way to honor them than to lend a helping hand in furthering their education.
Our scholarship program is funded exclusively by donations to the program. If you would like to make a contribution to supporting the higher education of Michigan children diagnosed with life threatening illnesses, simply designate a donation to the program and you too will feel the magic of helping these terrific kids!
Sponsor A Fundraiser
The Rainbow Connection hosts four annual events each year to raise funds to make dreams come true for Michigan children with life threatening illnesses. Become a sponsor for one or more of our annual events and help make dreams come true. Sponsoring The Rainbow Connection events provides an opportunity for companies to showcase their support in a highly visible way while helping us continue our mission to make dreams come true.
Bowling for Wishes – January
This annual fun family event in Macomb County provides opportunities for title sponsorship, lane sponsorship and scoreboard sponsors too!
Walk for Kids – May / June
This annual one mile walk around beautiful downtown Rochester Municipal Park was created at the request of our wish families looking for a low cost way to increase the awareness of The Rainbow Connection and raise money to help make dreams come true. Folks from all over Michigan come to share The Rainbow Connection message, enjoy a walk in the park and wonderful company. Sponsorship signs and banners are displayed along the walk path for all to cheer!
Dobson Golf Outing – Fourth Monday in July
This signature event is the symbol of the very first fundraiser for The Rainbow Connection in 1982 and is named in loving memory of our founder’s dear friend, Ron Dobson who perished in a plane crash with his two children Tim and Jennifer. One can actually feel the cherished history of this beloved organization with guests ranging from first time golfers to Dobson attendees dating back to the very beginning. Mr. Dobson’s, widow, Janet Dobson Vernier is there to greet and thank all who attend!
Celebration of Dreams – Late November, early December
The holidays are here, a quiet snow is falling and the wish children at The Rainbow Connection are putting on a fashion show for all who attend. This Sunday afternoon event is a special opportunity to celebrate our wish children and the joy of making wishes come true. Be a part of the magic!

Casual Day
Ask your employer to hold a "Dress Casual for a Day" fundraiser. For a donation employees get to dress casually, usually on Fridays. Everyone is comfortable and you raise money for The Rainbow Connection at the same time!
Already have a Casual Day? Suggest a Pot Luck and charge a small admission, a Bake Sale or BBQ. Invite other businesses to attend. Pick a theme. Make it fun!
